Palermo is the biggest district and one of the most tourist frequented neighborhoods in the city. It offers a great variety of attractions, the coastal area (La Costanera), the race track, the parks and the gardens (Palermo Forests). Palermo Viejo, a smaller section within Palermo with old houses, has become the place for the city's hottest bars, cafes, and ethnic eats.

This waterfront neigborhood located at the banks of Rio de la Plata, near the downtown district, is the newest area in town and represents the latest architectural trend in Buenos Aires.
The red brick warehouses around the diques, once belonging to the old port of the city, have been refurbished and house today many apartment buildings, offices, and residential complexes. The cobblestone promanade is also lined with elegant first-class restaurants. Bustling and businesslike during the day, the area attracts a fashionable wealthy crowd at night.

Congreso Square and The National Congress, are the namesakes of this area near the downtown district that was once a spaniard settlement along Av. de Mayo.
